Always Coca Cola!

Coca Cola magnets are small and fit into my criteria for little Cola collectibles.  This trip yielded several (already had the Polar Bear!) and will fit nicely into the mini shelf...

More for Cola’s tiny collection!

Many great thrift/antique/junqueing finds to document in the near future...

Fall Fiesta pics

A few more pics of the fun all-mini show in NE - really enjoyed seeing friends old and new, the adventure and road trip with Sara, shopping, dining, and a general nice getaway!

I always look forward to live shows and model events, and hope next year holds more.

Fun Trip...busy week

LOTS going on!  GOOD things!

The awesome weekend culminated in a great burger at one of my favorites...

Zombie Burger!!!

Got to a few live shows, finishing out at one job and moving into another one, getting stoked for upcoming projects and events as well as the holidays.  Halloween First!!!

(Not my entries, but really cool mini perf - inspired me to acquire tiny boots and fur pelt!)

Minis show!

Exhausted but an excellent live show for mini models today!  My little foal went Artist Resin division Reserve Champion and I had multiple champs, reserves, and models NAN qualify in decent competition.  Great folks and food and fiesta fun!

Show Prep!

Live shows are great fun and a chance to see old friends, make new ones, and enjoy many, many models!  Breed assignment and documentation are part of the preparation and “Homework”.

Getting organized makes it more enjoyable - this show will use a card system in place of the usual tags that identify each model.  Being prepared, I have multiple cards made up on models in case of callbacks and some extra blanks.  Photos and breed references are in order.

Ponies are packed and ready, along with other show and travel Goodies.  Woo Hoo!

Weekly Winner: Micro Artan!

SO many amazing micro minis by various talented artists in my collection!  The prolific sculptor Maggie Bennett is well-represented (*gulp* I’m at 40 of her micro pieces and adored her pewters from the get-go!), and I am starting to paint more of them!  After NaMoPaiMo 2018 kickstarted my creativity and art habits, I painted up a couple of her micro resins and this lovely pewter Artan.

He is cremello and as such would be a Friesian Sporthorse type or Draft Mix due to the double dilute.  I really love the balance and energy of this piece - not an easy feat for a two-point tiny metal guy!

Platinum

While not tearing up the show ring, I still think he’s a winner!

PainPainPain

I know weather change is inevitable, but sometimes I wish it wouldn’t exacerbate pain to the degree it does for me and others.  I expect the cold to bring about soreness, and the rain to change pressure and cause headaches, but once in awhile the random effects on sensory stuff is off the charts.

I try hard to hide it, not complain.  I know my sensitivity is hard to understand by those who don’t experience it.  Here’s to softer, cushier, more comfortable days ahead...

The Find that Stayed Behind

GoodWill is always a trip - thrifting for supplies and treasures yields all kinds of surprises, but THIS one was unique!  Alas, she stayed behind for $99 for someone with more space, but I enjoyed meeting her and imagining the possibilities...

What would you do with this ginormous Head?!?  She was lightweight and hollow...molded plastic or
Fiberglass, perhaps.  I also spotted some cool 80’s relics and more than one bizarre Halloween decoration.  I do love thrifting!

Found Flip!

Earlier this year I wrote about Billy and Blaze books, and had some lovely discussions about favorite childhood horse books and authors/illustrators/artists.  I hadn’t read Flip from the talented Wesley Dennis, so was thrilled to find a copy for a quarter while out thrifting.

I won’t spoil the cool (and surprising!) little story, but it was sweet.  Look at that sad face!

Now, to find the others!

Scale Model Dirt Bike!

Okay, so my cool Moped find is still on loan (see 2nd pic) but today I found a cool equine themed dirt bike for the dolls!  Bizarre but neat.  I go looking for a simple serving piece and come home with strange scale model goodies...anyone else guilty?

(This was sent to Tiffany because she needed to borrow wolves)
