Itching to Live Show

I have been showing in models since the mid-80’s.  Photo shows, live shows, and more recently, online photo shows.  There are some larger and smaller shows and competition and judging vary wildly.  Most of us started with original finish plastics showing “halter” them tried performance.  Eventually Custom (term in those days was R/R/H for remade, repainted, haired models) then Artist resins took hold in my stable.  In more recent years, divisions for collectibility and workmanship/finishwork have been created, and even medallionsand busts are getting their turn.  I hold a soft spot for Vintage Customs (pre 2000 work) and while I own some “clinkies” - China, ceramic, porcelain breakable models, I don’t often take them to shows.  I have a penchant for mini scales and used to show heavily in performance...thinking about trying it in small doses again.

For many of us, these table scenes are a common sight.  We organize our entries so we can get them up to the show ring tables by class.  There are callbacks for championships and often raffles.  Social aspects can be fun as well, and you get to see many beautiful models.  I miss judging, and live shows are a favorite part of the hobby for me despite some of the politics and drama that can happen.

It may be time to explore some new live shows and have smaller, dedicated show strings.
There are some stellar “specialty” shows and fun shows - a chance to enjoy it all!
Will try to find some show photos and performance entries to discuss in other posts.
Where will YOU be showing this year?
